“Buy With Prime” now Widely Available via App Integration

It's been about three months since Amazon and Shopify decided to form a partnership regarding Amazon's “Buy With Prime”. Since then, Amazon has recently taken two steps to make “Buy With Prime” more accessible.

Firstly, Amazon opened up the previously an invite-only program to all Shopify merchants. Secondly, Amazon has now released a Buy with Prime app, to the Shopify app store. This grants merchants the ability to integrate without having to modify template code. Additionally, merchants may now also add catalog, promotion, and order syncing. There are some clear motivating factors for brands that are already selling on amazon to integrate, however for most other merchants, it will be a debate as to whether or not it's worthwhile to justify sending inventory to Amazon fulfillment centers.

At this month's Los Angeles Auto Show, Hyundai and Amazon announced their broad strategic partnership. The partnership will include the sale of Hyundai vehicles on Amazon's U.S. store, Hyundai's use of Amazon Web Services (AWS) as its preferred cloud provider, and the integration of Alexa Built into 2025 Hyundai vehicles.

The sale of Hyundai vehicles on Amazon's U.S. store will begin in 2024. Customers will be able to search for available vehicles in their area, choose their preferred car; and then check out online with cars then being delivered to local dealerships.
