New Amazon Seller Inventory Report: Manage Inventory Health

Amazon launched a new Seller Central inventory report called Manage Inventory Health. It replaces three reports that Amazon recently deprecated: FBA Inventory Age, Inventory Health, and Excess Inventory. The three deprecated reports are currently still available in Seller Central, but Amazon announced their intent to remove them by March 2022.

What Changed?

Although almost all information from the deprecated reports is preserved in Manage Inventory Health, there are several gaps. The main ones are:

  • Item volume & storage fee savings estimates. Amazon used to automatically calculate the item volume and estimated fee savings of removing FBA inventory. The inputs are still available, but these metrics must be calculated manually. For example, you can still multiply an item’s length, width, and height to calculate item volume.

  • Hazmat flag. Items are no longer flagged as hazardous material (hazmat) in these inventory reports.

  • Competitive insights. Inventory Health reported on the number of AFN sellers with new and used offers on your ASIN.

  • Timeframe options for unit demand and weeks of cover. Both data types were preserved, but without 180- or 365-day timeframes.

This change is mainly a quality-of-life improvement for Sellers. By combining these three inventory reports, Amazon made it easier for Sellers to monitor inventory & inbound quantities, inventory aging, pricing, demand, and weeks of cover in one download.
