Amazon Launches Account Health Assurance to Prevent Unexpected Seller Deactivations

Amazon has unveiled a major new seller feature that will keep sellers with good historical behavior from getting suddenly deactivated, a major concern for most Amazon sellers.

Amazon is calling it Account Health Assurance (AHA) and is contacting sellers with a high Account Health Rating to announce to them that they have been enrolled in the program.

"With Account Health Assurance, we will not deactivate your selling account provided you work with us to resolve any issues," reads the Amazon email, which has been posted by recipients on the Amazon Seller Forum. "It is a new benefit designed to give you greater peace of mind as you grow your business with Amazon."

Amazon says there is no charge to be enrolled in AHA.

Instead of a sudden deactivation, an account health specialist will reach out to a seller in the AHA program if there is a critical policy issue with the account to "proactively" work with the seller to resolve the issue. Amazon pledges no deactivation if the seller can be reached within 72 hours and works with the specialist to resolve the issue. The specialist will reach out to the emergency contact number the seller provided to Amazon -- you can check to make sure your contact info is up to date by going to Notification Preferences.

Amazon says the AHA members can also contact Account Health Support with any questions, help with addressing issues, or even advice on maintaining a strong account health rating by using the "Call Me Now" button on the Account Health page within Amazon Seller Central.

Amazon says sellers must maintain an AHR score of 250 or more for at least 6 months with no more than 10 days below 250 in order to stay in AHA enrollment. Sellers must also meet basic requirements, like having a valid emergency number on file and working with the specialist within 72 hours.

This new feature could be a game-changer for sellers in that it eliminates a major concern -- sudden and mysterious deactivation due to an alleged violation of Amazon policies with no recourse to fix it quickly. This new program provides a major incentive to sellers to keep account health scores high.
